How to run a football squares board

  1. Make the board

    Pick a starting board, then type the team for the top and the team for the side. Add the date, kickoff time and what each square and quarter pays. Save the PDF and print it.

  2. Fill the squares

    Players write their name in the squares they want. Each board has 100 numbered squares, so it's easy to keep track of who has which one.

  3. Draw the numbers

    Once the board is full, draw the digits 0 through 9 at random and write one in each gray box across the top, then do the same down the side.

  4. Check each quarter

    At the end of each quarter, take the last digit of each team's score. The square where that row and column meet is the winner for that quarter.

How does a football squares board work?

A squares board is a 10 by 10 grid. One team goes across the top and the other down the side. People write their names in squares, then the numbers 0 through 9 are drawn at random for each row and column. At the end of each quarter, the last digit of each team's score points to one winning square.

Does the site handle any money for the pool?
